Precision for the steel industry
At TAES, collaboration with companies in the iron and steel sector is common, which is not limited only to the supply of material in the most common formats, but also provides customers with semi-finished pieces on numerous occasions in TAES facilities.
Where the strength of steel meets extreme precision
In the iron and steel industry, robustness is not enough: precision is the true pillar of reliability.
At TAES we contribute more than 50 years of experience in precision deep hole drilling to shape critical pieces manufactured in steel, cast iron and high-strength alloys.
Our work guarantees the stability, alignment and structural safety of the components that support heavy industrial production.
In our facilities in Berriz (Bizkaia) we have large-capacity machinery to drill and lap pieces up to 11 meters in length, 350 mm in diameter and 50 tons weight, maintaining tight tolerances and good alignment, adapting to each customer’s requirements.
We perform inclined and eccentric perforations even on complex geometry pieces in components intended for rolling, presses, furnaces, hydraulic systems or forging lines.
Our processes are certified and controlled to ensure reliable and repeatable machining.
At TAES we understand the demands of the steel sector: tight deadlines, unique pieces and difficult materials.
We work as a trusted technical partner, offering agile solutions, specialized advice and complete traceability in each project.
Our experience allows us to anticipate problems and achieve results according to specification, even in the most extreme conditions.
Manufacturers of rolling equipment, forges, steel mills and large format machinists trust TAES for our capacity, commitment and precision.
Our objective: to transform the strength of steel into a competitive advantage, adding value to each industrial process.
What we offer to the iron and steel industry
Drilling on all types of metals, ferrous and non-ferrous, from copper or bronze to any type of steel.
Drilling and counterboring of long pieces for multiple sectors, such as petrochemical, which due to their final dimensions are not compatible with commonly used formats.
The possibility of handling large-sized and heavy pieces by having cranes with lifting capacity of up to 50 tons.
The possibility of working on pieces of the most diverse geometries, such as valves in which we make “T” shaped holes.
